Vintage High Atlas Mountains Kilim
Moroccan kilims are best known for their geometric designs in bold colors, but can also feature more neutral, simple designs as well. The geometric motifs are generally the guiding theme—in part because the weaving technique used, known as slit weave, lends itself to the creation of sharp patterns. This kilim comes from the small region where the Sahara meets the High Atlas Mountains.
They are made of wool and woven on a loom producing a flat-weave cloth with little to pile - despite this they are still soft underfoot.
A pristine condition vintage piece dating back to circa 1980.
material: 100% wool
