Orange Taznakht Rug with Blue Amazigh Symbols

Taznakht is in the High Atlas Mountains and the rugs are known for their high-quality silky wool, their traditional designs and striking colors. The rugs are made by sourcing the best quality wool and hand spinning it. The wool is then dyed with natural products before being woven into designs. Finally, it is trimmed, washed, and sun-dried in the mountains. The entire process is done by hand and often requires up to nine months of work. A good carpet of its kind can count up to 480,000 knots per square meter. The natural colours of these wonderful rugs come from saffron, henna, mint and other natural ingredients, so the tones could be red, green, orange or blue.
